Okay for the price
This light gets three stars mainly for the case design. It is a neat little thing and looks like it would survive being outside for an extended period. The parts inside are less impressive. I was skeptical of the waterproof claim so I took it apart (see pictures).
The light modes are awesome — you can just do white
I picked up two of these for a party. Yes for a party — we were having a green themed party for my mother-in-law, and so we thought for the price we could turn the whole room green.
Xmas light twist
I original bought 4 of these with low the original intention of lighting up the exterior of my house but instead came up with an idea to use them inside (one per window) pointing at white blinds tilted to capture the light. It was an interesting effect and really bright. I set all the lights to cycle through the colors and it was admittedly a bit campy; my son suggested we leave it red upstairs and green down, and it was a lot more elegant looking and that’s how we left it this year. Very pleased with this purchase and the quality seems good enough–just a few years ago an RGB led like this was over $100 so at the current price it’s a bargain.
Make great landscape lighting
I have three of these, now. I made a base plate for them out of (no joke & works great) bucket lids, from 5 gallon buckets. Then, I wired them together, and placed them in front of my house, looking up the wall, and covered the bases with mulch. It illuminates the entire front of my house, and the best part is that I can go change the color, whenever I get tired of a setting/color. So far, no issues, seem to be sealed pretty well.
These are great for exterior holiday lighting
These are great for exterior holiday lighting. I purchased the 10W version to determine if they were bright enough. They’re definitely bright enough to give a spooky effect. If you’re trying to light up a very large area you may want the 30W version.
Eye of the Medusa….
I love this light! I use it overhead to illuminate my mixer on my music recording desk. How a reviewer can say it’s just “okay for the price” is beyond me.
Love these for Halloween!
We wanted a few up lights to spook up our house for Halloween and these did the trick! For the price you can’t beat them! My husband mounted them to some 2×4’s and set them out in our yard.
This wasn’t super bright when placed outside (we were wowed inside the …
This is not their brightest model, but it still created a nice effect. We used it at a campground, but will also use it at halloween. The remote seems to need to “wake up” sometimes. It often takes several tries to get it to change settings, even when right at the unit. It’s super inexpensive though, so worth it!
Bright light for just 10W
Works exactly as described. Its very bright and lights up my back deck. The remote works good but you have to stand directly in front of it to operate the remote. Was hoping to turn it off and on from inside my porch like I do some of my other remotes. But for this price and all I had to do was plug it in with an extension cord to put it on the eave of the house. Love the clear bright light when I walk out on the deck at night.
So far, so good.
So far so good, if anything arises I will update my review at a later time. It seems to have a durable aluminum case and flexible silicone rubber gasket that mates the transformer to the light. The lens is GLASS which is very impressive so that it will not haze over time. Distance on the remote I found is about 20 ft max. The colors change seamlessly and the white option is well over 6000k temp. Seemed to have a little trouble with the strobe option, even on white, but I will play around with it more to see if I can figure it out. So far, so good. I will be installing these under the ledge of a dock to shine ambient light in the water from above, I will update this in a few months.
