but I figured I could get him a "better" one at a later date if he actually found it useful. No need
There are a lot more expensive grill thermometers out there, and I admit I was hesitant to get this less expensive version as a gift for my son-in-law, but I figured I could get him a “better” one at a later date if he actually found it useful. No need! This very reasonably priced thermometer has all the bells and whistles and works great every time. The receiver has an excellent range, and food comes out perfectly cooked every time. He’s had the thermometer for 6 months now, and I’ve since purchased two more as gifts, with rave reviews from all. A quality product at a great price!
Great Digital Thermometer!
I’ve been searching and testing various digital thermometers for quite some time and have only just now found what I was seeking-a thermometer that offers intuitive operation, easy to read settings and solid construction. This oven thermometer from ThermoPro provides everything I was looking for and more. Batteries are included for this unit as well as a lifetime warranty on the product with 3 years warranty on the probe. In addition to precise functionality, this unit also allows for wireless remote monitoring, something you typically don’t get from a unit at this price point. There are suggested cooking temperatures for various protein as well as the ability to adjust each one to your own preferences, handy when you consider most proteins should be removed from the heat at least 5 degrees sooner than a unit recommends. This is necessary as the protein will continue to cook and add at least 5 degrees after being removed from the heat source. I’ve had the remote unit approximately 50 feet from the main unit without losing the signal, allowing one to sit comfortably inside while meat cooks on the grill outside or in the oven. I caught this unit on sale on Cyber Monday and at that reduced cost it was an incredible bargain. But even at its regular price, I highly recommend your investment in this unit.
Excellent thermometer and great company to deal with!
This is a very accurate thermometer and the company backs their products. I had a probe fail (I own several of these) and they simply sent me a replacement. No questions asked and over a year after purchase. I have bought several of these to give to my grilling buddies as X-Mas gifts and they all love them. Being able to get indoors and continuously monitor your meats when it’s really cold, or hot out, watching the game when you’re slow & low smoking on your Big Green Egg, or simply being able too get away is fantastic! Go buy yourself one and you will be glad that you did.
Anyone can have a problem. It’s how you respond that counts.
I loved this product when I first used it. I used it rarely, only when using my gas grill. After a time well beyond the Amazon return I had a problem with the unit showing temperatures that were impossible. I contacted the ThermoPro people and did some tests eg. boiling water.. I forwarded the results and they immediately sent me a new unit. You can’t ask for better service.
Has worked great the couple times I’ve used it and cleans up …
Bought this to use with my pellet grill for smoking meats. Has worked great the couple times I’ve used it and cleans up easily once finished. My only beef (lol) with the unit is the flashing lights on it. I understand the need to flash to notify you of certain temperature thresholds that are reached, but there’s no reason for it to constantly flash until it reaches the next threshold. If I’m smoking a pork butt low and slow for 10+ hours, that’s a LOT of unnecessary light flashing that is draining the batteries more. My first time using it I wondered why the alarm wasn’t going off when I reached my target temp. But then I realized the transmitter/probe end actually measures in tenths of a degree, while the receiver rounds the number to the nearest full degree. So when the receiver first says 200 degrees, it’s actually 199.5 or 199.6. It will alarm when the actual temp outside reaches your set point.
