Pool essentials shock is an economic shock for all pool types. Designed for easy application through the skimmer or directly into the deep end of the pool. Ideal for use at any time through the season.
Chloring is Chlorine… right? Not so much!
Comparing Pool Essentials to the most popular brand (Kemtek) of shock:
I got this for a great price but since I’ve never used this brand, I was worried about how it would work. Last night we took the cover off of the above ground Intex pool. We left about 2 feet of water in it over the winter. It was full of leaves and the water was pea soup green with critters skittering around. Super gross. We thought we’d have to drain it. But, we went ahead and filled it as high as the filter line and turned it on. After 40 minutes the filter was clogged with algea. So I opened a pack of the Pool Essentials shock and started to spread it around. I started to stir it up with the pool skimmer, but got distracted. We were gone for about 2 hours, when we got home, the algea was almost gone and the pool is more of a pale green. I think with a few more hours on the filter and maybe another shock, it’ll be ready for swimming this weekend. This shock worked better than any of the other name brands I’ve used over the years. I’ll be honest, we don’t really know what we’re doing when it comes to pool maintenance. But products like this make us LOOK like we do. And that is good.
Good priced shock for my pool.
This is a very good shock treatment for a algae infested pool. I guess it’s due to the active ingredient of Trichloro-s-triazinetrione. After 2 bags of this pool shock and 8 hours of running the filter pump and 4 hours of having the Aquabot roam the bottom floor and sides of the pool, my green pool is now clear blue.
Works great but much less expensive!
I was apprehensive of it’s effectiveness because it was so cheap, but this pool shock worked just as it should have.
Awesome price and high concentration chemicals
I take care of my own pool, this things are as good as the top brand names, maybe even better. I have a 50,000 gallons pool, so it’s a lot of money to shock it, but with these things, I put 6 pack of these and no matter how bad the problem is, you get a clear pool as soon as the filter works through it. Price is great and high quality product.
but it’s great for our current needs
This stuff will bleach your liner, but that’s what we wanted. Our pool was neglected by the previous owners and was stained by leaves. After a year of using this shock most of the stains have faded and it does everything else shock is supposed to do. I’ll use something else when we get a new liner, but it’s great for our current needs.
Use as directed; should be no problems. Also great for killing algae when needed in double doses…
I use this weekly in my Coleman Above Ground Pool of nearly 15,000 gals, which for me means using 1 and half bags per week. I used to mix it in a bucket of water first, and then, add into pool. It worked, but not all of it dissolved resulting in some bleaching of our pool liner. I then began adding into our skimmer basket, which is the Preferred method mentioned on the package and no more problems with bleaching the liner.
The only shock you will ever need!
This product worked like a charm on our pool that had turned almost HUNTER green after losing power for 4 days with Hurricane Irma! My husband was sure we would have to drain the pool, but after 2 shock treatments, it is back to crystal clear water! Great, affordable product!
