Luci Original is a bright, lightweight inflatable solar lantern that collapses flat to 1 inch so you can take a little light wherever you go. Just place it in direct sunlight for 7 hours and Luci Original will last up to 12 hours on a single charge. Luci Original shines powerfully in three settings: bright, super bright, and 1 second flashing. A convenient battery level indicator located near the light’s highly efficient solar panel lets you know just how much power is left so you know when it’s time to charge it in the sun again.
Luci Original is a no frills, gets-the-job-done kind of light that’s perfect for the patio, garden, backyard barbecues, camping, emergency preparedness and as a unique gift. It’s a clean, reliable source of light that’s completely waterproof and extremely durable, so you can use Luci Original anywhere you need light. About MPOWERD:

Luci vs. D.light.
Great product in it’s own right, but I still prefer the D-Light solar light for general usage.
You want to buy this. You have to buy this. BUY THIS! Even my broken one is better than the competition!
BUY THIS LANTERN. I’ve had my two for about 5 years now. I leave them in a south facing window and they are ALWAYS charged when I need them. When it’s time to hit the trail I just toss them in my bag. When I’m at home it’s great to inflate them and toss them in the pool. They weigh nothing, are totally waterproof, float, and are basically indestructible unless you plan to drive over the thing… and even then… it might be ok. BUY A LUCI LANTERN. Even after 5 years they are both still in perfect working order and as bright as they were the day I got them. Just recently (and all fault here goes to me) I over inflated one and then let it get smooshed. It popped. I used it a few times camping… and it still worked great… didn’t really inflate…just hung there like a dead balloon… but still produced plenty of light. Today I had the idea to cut the inflatable chamber of the lantern. The solar panel, wiring, and LEDs are still perfectly contained in a waterproof plastic bubble… so now I have a badass floating fishbowl light!
My favorite outdoor product in over a decade but only 4 stars? Read on!
My applications for this light: First, I am an expedition canoeist (actually, a river-rat floatfisherman who prefers to stay Out There for a week or more at a time). Haven’t used mine for that yet (water’s not warm enough yet), but I have one big trip already planned for this season and no doubt that the Luci will become my favorite camping lantern EVER. Second, I smoke, but not in the house or vehicle. I’ve been using this lantern every night since I got it as I go out to the BBQ area to smoke. I read constantly, even taking a book into the grocery store to read in the checkout line. This thing is great for reading at a picnic table with no moon in the tree-filled Arkansas Ozarks night.
A revolutionary product
In the hands of people that do not have and have never had electricity this is a life changing product. But, lets rein in the claims a bit. It takes direct sun to get a full charge and from my tests on the 6 lanterns that I bought it is about an hour per hour trade off, hour of sun, hour of good light. On a day of fairly bright overcast my lantern just charged enough to give a little more than an hour of bright light and I am at 9 degrees north latitude in Panama. On the sunny days I get 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 hours of light that everyone sitting around my four foot round table can easily read by, even my 71 year old eyes have no problem. I would like to get more of these lights into the hands of the Indian people here, many of these villages have never had light after the sun went down. This is not darkest Africa, this is Panama, you know the canal, the huge new Trump Hotel, beyond Panama city are many that still commute by paddling dugout canoes. Anyway I will be ordering more Luci Lights.
Light of Day
I received this as a gift about 7 years ago. I knew it was a solar powered lantern but I never paid much attention to it and it just sort of moved with me over several states, shoved in boxes and cabinets, here and there. I just recently started getting into camping and found this in my drawer so I thought I would try it out. After sitting in the dark for SEVEN YEARS this thing was as bright as day. Took it camping, charged it a little in the setting sun and it lasted all night. Very bright with two different brightness settings and a flashing setting (I imagine for emergencies?). Love this little thing, will definitely start gifting to other adventurers/hikers/campers.
Awesome product – have really enjoyed mine
These lanterns are fantastic, and a growing rage in my scouting unit. On their first setting (“low”, but it’s not really low–just “less bright”) they’ll last several hours. We use them in our camp kitchen and they provides as much light as a traditional lantern. I’ve also used one in my home when the power goes out, and it will light an entire room sufficient for “getting around” and even reading. I love how compact they get, which makes them ideal for hiking. Not needing a battery makes them light, too. The vinyl is rugged and there are straps for hanging on both ends.
Good Solar Light but some Odd Design Issues
A friend recommended this to us especially since we live in a Hurricane area. I have to admit when I first got this, I was a little confused as to what to do. The instructions were not all that good, so I went online and found out more information. They are a good idea and seem to be bright. THere is also a little button to check battery status. The part where you blow into and inflate them doesn’t recede so when you turn them upside down to recharge, they are kind of wobbly and at an angle. I’m not sure if that is by design or not but seemed odd.
Buy it for the weight, not for its incredible light output
I have lots of solar lights. For whatever reason they are my thing. I have gotten two of these Luci units over the years. They are unique in their size and their compactness. If you are backpacking and are concerned about the weight you are carrying, this is your product. However, if you’re more concerned with the amount of light output and the money you’re spending, there are better choices. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind having this little unit. But if I were to just be buying for it’s use in a power outage, this wouldn’t be my Top Choice.
