This Humane Mouse Trap is perfect for all animal lovers. The Smart Mouse Trap senses when the mouse enters to retrieve the bait and snaps the door shut. The little critter will stay in the trap enjoying his treat until you come and release him in a safe place. To use this easy "no kill" mousetrap simply place a "saltine" cracker in the bait holder, set the trap and check frequently (make sure you check daily or you may starve a trapped mouse). Take the live mouse still in the trap to a wooded or brushy area and open the door and set the little guy free. Escape is delayed until the mouse chews through the cracker. This delay avoids contact between the mouse and the trap user and gives the mouse a little snack to keep him nourished for a while. The Smart Mouse Trap can be cleaned and reused as many times as needed. You'll be thrilled with this quick and humane mouse control. The trap is made of green see-through Kodar plastic & two stainless steel springs work the trap door. Measures 3" x 7" x 2.5". Comes with 1 mouse trap with instructions and booklet about trapping smart mice and mouseproofing your home. Endorsed by humane societies and animal rights organizations in the U.S. and worldwide. Makes a great gift for animal lovers.

Day 4 in the Head to Head Battle of "Smart Mouse Trap" vs "Mice Cube" – the 1st round goes to Smart Mouse Trap!

I purchased this product along with a pack of 3 of the “Mice Cubes” http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WB11ZK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 and used one of those along with the Smart Mouse Trap simultaneously. I wrote that review first (click on my name to see my other reviews to find it) – because it was successful the very first night but it was not an even playing field since I placed them in different locations and Mice Cube was placed in a drawer I knew mice had access to. I initially placed Smart Mouse Trap under the kitchen sink where I had just sealed their access hole with Great Stuff. On Day 2 I placed both traps side by side in the same drawer Mice Cube had had success with on Day 1. About the “Day” thing – all the action actually seems to happen at night. I check the traps in the morning as well as a few times throughout the day. Both mice captured so far have been found in the morning.

This trap is where it’s at! (the loose hamster, that is!)

One of the easiest to use most effective products I have ever bought. We have a Chinese Dwarf Hamster named Jinxy who made the great escape when my 9 year-old daughter left her unattended in her “playpen,” a.k.a. plastic bin. We looked under all furniture to no avail and knew we needed additional help catching this little sneaky thing. We found evidence the next day of her activity in our pantry: half eaten candy that fell on the floor and a very nibbled-on potato in the sack along with some droppings. Once we got the trap, the directions were very clearly stated and easy to follow. My 11 year-old son set it up with the peanut butter saltine “manual escape hatch” and a couple of pieces of hamster treats to lure her in. One hour after placing the trap at 11pm (they are nocturnal, after all) and we had our girl back, unharmed. I think she was a bit disappointed the party was over but after three days on the lam and eating peanut butter, chocolate and potatoes, she was ready for a big drink of water! (Side note, my husband and I were very relieved to find only Jinxy in this trap and not some other unwanted furry friend) I highly recommend this trap!

If Mouse Lives Matter, then this is the trap for you!

Bottom line, this trap works. If you have a mouse you want to get rid of and don’t want to hurt it, this is a good option.

Works great! Found a modification for catching very small mice.

I’m so happy I ordered this. I caught a large mouse/small rat right away after another human trap didn’t work for a couple of weeks. Turns out the critter I was trying to catch was TOO big for the other trap.

"Fievel" successfully apprehended in 7 hours 🙂

And we have a winner! My roommates and I were in a race to see who could nab the little bugger(s) first…they put out snap-traps (boooo) and I set up this humane “smart” mouse trap.

My mouse was really smart, but I got her just in time!

I live in the mountains, and when winter hit, so did the small, furry house guests. I love animals, and have pets and a young child, so poisons and cruel traps were absolutely out of the question. But, it was not a good situation for the family or the mouse, so I did some research and got this trap. Also, my folks were coming for the holidays, and I didn’t want them to freak out about the mouse, they are city people from a temperate climate, so mouse=horrible, dirty living to them.

Great Product + Planning = Success

My home recently acquired two uninvited house mice. After researching house mice, looking at Amazon’s humane trap options and reading the reviews, I have purchased the Smart Mouse Trap as well as Grandpa Gus’s Mouse Traps. This review pertains to the Smart Mouse Trap and my success with it. This is an excellent product that’s well designed, well built and successfully achieves its goal of humanely trapping live mice- as long as it is used properly. I add this last caveat not because of the product’s quality but because of user expectations and the general unpredictability of wild animals. If you are genuinely interested in live-capturing and releasing your mouse then you should be aware and ready to commit to the following:
