I couldn’t find a better price anywhere, so I ordered these. You’ll find some 4link setups that cost more than these. Shipping from my seller was a little slower than expected, but they arrived with no issues.

The quality of these chains appears to be pretty good. Nice and shiny, well packaged. Unfortunately this item pops up when you do a search for 16″ tire chains. These are more like 11″ tire chains. My tires are size 4.80-8 and measure 15.5″ in diameter. These chains are less than half the length required to fit. So I give them four stars for item quality and 0 stars for description quality.

gives my lawnmower traction on the hills

These chains make it possible to mow my lawn in spots I could not before. They give me the traction on hills so that my tires don’t spin out. I have a common size riding lawnmower that probably uses the same size tires across all the brands – Craftsman, Husqevarna, John Deere, etc. I also purchased some bungee clips so that the chains would fit tight on my tire and not wear the rubber down as quickly. I would highly recommend for anyone with traction problems.

I’ve had a 30 year old smaller set of these chains for an equally old John Deere 212 and they work well and have held up well. No appreciable wear. Just ordered a set for a Massey 2610 TLB. While the Massey is a larger machine and the chains will get more abuse, I don’t anticipate any problems considering how well the other set have held up on the Deere. It too sees it’s share of hard work beyond snow removal and the chains on that tractor stay on year round. I’ll know more when I receive the new chains, but if the old ones are any indication I have no fears. Do yourself a favor though and order direct from Outdoor Power Deals to save a few bucks.

Work Well

We only had one snow storm since I put the chains on, but they did work well. Easy to install, fit great and I would recommend them to friend.

Decent product, works wonderfully in the snow and ice.

I put them on Carlisle Tru-Power ag tires on my 316 John Deere. My JD does have the rear hydro kit, and the chains clear it just fine. They are a PITA to put onto ag bar tires, but that is to be expected. Putting them on turf tires would be simple. Note that while extra tensioners are a great idea, it isn’t necessary (but the chains will be a bit looser), but perhaps on turf tires you may get some slippage.

Cheap upgrade for a snowblower.

As others have said, they are snow blower chains, shiny metal, then after a year, oxidized metal.
